Happy New Year!

Only a few hours left of 2011 and we will be set to start all over again.  Who knows what the next year will bring, the possibilities are endless.

It is raining out and some neighbors a couple blocks away are setting off fireworks.  There is a movie waiting for me to be started and after that I am hoping for a full nights sleep.  I am betting against that last one.  I got it last night but the two nights before that had me up in the middle of the night.

May God bless the new year.  See you all (ha ha, isn't that funny - Hi Betty Jo) in 2012!

The start of the taggie quilt

I got DH to do the layout for me. He is much better at randomizing than I am. I tend to make things very symmetrical.

Shoes

I don't think I have the sewing skills to actually do this but it looks cute.

2 more pages - yellow and green

I had a shortage of yellow colors, but enough to make the page. Only two more color pages left to make and then the covers. The last to colors will be the hardest to chose fabrics for. Those are the ones I have the most choices of what to use. As for the covers, I'm thinking use various animal pictures at least for one of them. Maybe for the other cover use my favorite pattern designs. It would be good to also sign the book somehow. I have plenty of embroidery floss I could dig up to use for that. Then I would need to figure out what to say.

I finally have collected enough materials and have some time to start the crazy quilt book of colors. So far I have 2 pages done. Here is a preview. I am still trying to decide what to do for the cover and the back. I'm thinking for the cover to make another page using my favorite fabrics, especially ones with animals on them.

Crazy quilt book

I haven't done any quilting before, but this looks like an easy starting project. Too bad I don't have fabric scraps. I think mom probably would though, so maybe I could get scraps from her. There are lots of possibilities from this. I'm thinking maybe some crinkly material in the middle since that seems to be a well liked thing to grab onto. It should probably also be washable, but I don't know how that would work.

Starting a blog

I have always said I wouldn't do a blog. It seems as if I have changed my mind. The thing I want right now is a place to save patterns I find which I would like to do. Also someplace to post finished projects. I just started sewing to add to the knitting which I already did.
